IPL 2021: AB de Villiers- first overseas player likely to join 100 Cr salary club

The swashbuckling batsman of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), AB de Villiers leaves the mark not just on-the-field but amazes fans off-the-field as well. The senior RCB player is all likely to enter IPL 100 Cr Salary Club, thus being the first foreign player to enter this unique club.
If RCB retains de Villiers in IPL 2021, his salary will be 11 crores, making his IPL belt reach a whopping high 102.5 Cr. This South African batsman, also known as Mr 360 degree for his ability to smash shots throughout the spectrum of the field, has given some spectacular batting and fielding stuff. No doubt, his seniority comes at an exorbitant cost.

Villiers has been the part of just two IPL franchisees- Delhi Capitals (Delhi Daredevils then) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He featured for Delhi Daredevils from the genesis of the IPL, 2008 till 2010, post which he was taken by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Since then, for almost a decade, he has been representing the red RCB brigade.
The 36-year-old shows that batting is just a number. His stats- 169 matches of the tournament, 4849 runs at an average of 40.40 clearly show that he is a powerful hitter.
Entering in this coalition of the elite 100 crore club, de Villiers will join Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni, Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma, and his RCB teammate Virat Kohli. These three other cricketers have crossed the 100 crore mark to date.
