IPL 2021: Twitter reacts as Andre Russell picks up five wickets in just two overs to skittle out Mumbai Indians

Andre Russell
Mumbai Indians (MI) were spectacularly skittled out for 152 runs in their match today against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. KKR had earlier won the toss and opted to field first, naming an unchanged line-up. The defending champions on the other hand, went for Quinton de Kock instead of previous match’s top scorer Chris Lynn.
The move did not work wonders however, as de Kock was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy early on. Rohit Sharma was then joined by Suryakumar Yadav and the two kept the scoreboard ticking with some eye-pleasing shots. The latter got to his half-century and all seemed well with MI’s innings. However, his wicket sparked a collapse as the KKR bowlers applied the choke at the death.
Andre Russell returns a fifer; Twitter reacts

After the dismissal of the likes of Suryakumar, Rohit, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya, Andre Russell came on to contribute with two overs at the death. Not only did he then stifle the run flow but he ended up picking a whopping total of 5 wickets. His first wicket was the most crucial as he removed his West Indian teammate Kieron Pollard before running through the tail who attempted to take him.
Following his excellent bowling display and stunning figures of 5-15, Twitter reacted with awe at the same. Here are some reactions:
