IPL 2021 Auction: A peek into the franchises remaining purse ahead of the 2021 VIVO IPL auction

The 2021 VIVO IPL Player Auction is just a few hours away to get the players seizing the blazing hot bid. The auction for the 14th IPL edition will get underway at 3 PM on Thursday. The offcials, coaches and management have reached the ITC Grand Chola Hotel in Chennai for the big day.

As teams are about to thumb heavy hammers of hefty amounts, here’s the look at the money with the IPL Teams at their disposal.

Remaining purse amount with IPL Teams

Chennai Super Kings(CSK)– 19.9 Crores

Delhi Capitals(DC)– 13.4 Crores

Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR)– 10.75 Crores

Kings XI Punjab(KXIP)– 53.2 Crores

Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB)– 35.4 Crores

Sun Risers Hyderabad(SRH)- 10.75 Crores

Mumbai Indians(MI)– 15.35 Crores

Rajasthan Royals(RR)– 37.85 Crores

All the IPL will have to do shopping with the purse limit of 85 Crores. IPL GC decided not to increase the player purse’s size, which remains the same as it was the case in IPL 2019-20.

Besides, there is another BCCI and IPL GC ruling that is binding on the franchisee. It is mandatory for all the franchises to spend minimum 75 percent of the total purse of 85Cr. In case any franchise spends below that amount, the remaining sum of defaulting franchises will be forfeited.
