IPL 2021 Auction: Full squad and list of players bought by Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings, who had the biggest purse with close to 53 crores in the wallet, made the full use of the money available at their disposal. In fact, they negotiated a couple of good players at a reasonable price and ended the day with still 18 crores remaining in their wallet.
With a revamped logo, name and the team as a whole, Punjab would be aiming sky-high to grab the IPL 2021 Trophy.
New additions to Punjab’s squad
Despite deep pockets, Punjab Kings cracked a deal never dreamt off. They opened their account by including England batsman Dawid Malan to their side. Despite Malan being one of the best T20 players, Punjab had him to their side for a low amount of just 1.5 crores.
Punjab then poured their heart out as they purchased Australian bowler Jhye Richardson for a whopping price of 14 crores. Doing so, Richardson became the second-most Expensive Bowler in IPL Auctions History.
Punjab’s bowling unit wasn’t satiated as they then went onto purchase Tamil Nadu’s star pacer from the just concluded edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Punjab purchased Shahrukh Khan at a good price of 5.5 crores.
Consolidating their bowling unit further, Punjab spent a hefty price on Australian pacer Riley Meredith and purchased him for 8 crores.
With still a lot of money in their bag, they bid for an Australian allrounder Moises Henriques for a high price of 4.2 crores.
Besides, they took the new faces- Jalaj Saxena, Utkarsh Singh, Fabian Allen and Saurabh Kumar a chance to feature in the IPL.
