Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) today at the Feroz Shah Kotla today in Delhi and after being asked to bowl first, came up with a mostly assured bowling performance. For SRH, it was a painful innings for a major part of the innings as their skipper David Warner struggled to connect deliveries. It was an agonizing stay at the crease for the skipper who crossed a significant landmark of 10,000 runs in T20s in the process.

Asked to bowl first, CSK drew first blood as Sam Curran removed his fellow countryman Jonny Bairstow by having him pull one straight to the fielder. It was then that the returning Manish Pandey joined David Warner and the two set about laying down a platform for a final flourish. Although CSK did not give away wickets, they bowled good lines and lengths and ensured that there weren’t a lot of freebies for SRH to feast on.

Manish Pandey and David Warner put on a 100-run partnership and the former was the aggressor as he showcased what SRH had missed in the two matches where they dropped him. Warner on the other hand, was not happy with rotating strike as he tried to go big, but kept failing. The Australian roared in anguish on a plethora of instances where he failed to connect a delivery. A run-a-ball fifty was not what he would have wanted and it showed.

Warner perished while trying to take on Lungi Ngidi for a 55-ball 57. This is how Twitter reacted to the same.
