Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals (DC) are on a roll at the moment. After a defeat in their second match of the season against Rajasthan Royals (RR) seemed to suggest that they have a lot to improve upon, the side has bounced back in style with three wins in a row and mostly comprehensive ones at that.

In their previous match, DC defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Super Over after nail-biting thriller ended in a tie. Axar Patel who was returning for the first time after his battle with COVID-19, was the hero as he did not give away a single boundary in the all-important over.

DC would fancy their chances of making it four wins in a row today.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) seemed like the team to beat after they raced to the top of the table with four victories in a row. Everything seemed to be going perfectly for the side with the side firing as a unit and their customary problems of death bowling and over-reliance on Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers getting solved.

However, a defeat to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the fifth match has served as a reality check to them and has seen them drop to third place on the table. It was a comprehensive defeat for the Kohli-led side as they were completely outplayed by Ravindra Jadeja.

With a spot at the top of the table, up for grabs, RCB would want to be at their best and secure a win today.

Pitch Report

The pitches at the Narendra Modi Stadium produced scores in excess of 160 during the T20I series between India and England. However, in yesterday’s match, it proved to be on the slower side with the ball keeping low. There was plenty of dew on the field as well. Teams winning the toss would look to bowl first.

Predicted Playing XI

Both teams might make changes to their line-up today. Ravichandran Ashwin‘s departure could see Lalit Yadav coming back for DC. RCB might be tempted to play Daniel Sams instead of Daniel Christian.

Match Prediction

Royal Challengers Bangalore would want to bounce back from the crushing defeat in their previous match. With a change of venue and the pitch proving to be on the slower side, RCB’s top order would want to come to the fore. DC won’t be an easy opponent to beat as they’ve also shown excellent grit on such difficult conditions. However, RCB might nick this one if their top order fires.
