The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin in less than a month’s time and all sides have already started training with their available players for the tournament. IPL 2021 will begin on the 9th of April with a match between defending champions between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and for the next month one and a half months or so, a cricketing feast awaits.
MI will once again be favorites to win the tournament due to the stupendous balance that they have in their side. All other teams would be out to stop them from doing the ‘three-peat’. With the auction having already ended, each team would have a good idea of their strengths and weaknesses as they bid to stop the defending champions.
Ahead of the tournament, each side’s team jersey has been revealed. We take a look at each of them with the exception of Rajasthan Royals (RR) who haven’t yet revealed their jersey.
Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings had a below-par IPL season last year as they failed to finish inside the playoff spots for the first time ever in their history. This time around with regard to their jersey, Myntra has been roped in as their primary sponsor but the overall design looks exactly the same.
The Punjab Kings have changed their team name and logo ahead of IPL 2021 as they look for a change in their fortunes. The jersey has also undergone a change and while the sponsors remain undisclosed, there is a significant change with regard to the color.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders would want to come up with a far better display than their inconsistent ones in the last season. They haven’t made any change to their jersey as well.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers Bangalore would want to desperately get their hands on the elusive IPL trophy for the first time ever in their history. They haven’t made any changes to their jersey from last year.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have been one of the most consistent sides in recent times and they will want to keep up their good run in IPL 2021. Their jersey in IPL 2021 will have JK Lakshmi Cement as the primary sponsor.
Delhi Capitals were finalists last season in the IPL and they would want to go one better to win the tournament for the first time ever in their history. They haven’t made changes to their jersey either.
Mumbai Indians are on a roll at the moment and are even being used as subjects of debates about the greatest T20 team of all time inclusive of international teams. They will have Samsung as their primary sponsors next season.
