English all-rounder Ben Stokes is currently in red-hot form during the ongoing limited-overs series against India. Stokes played a miraculous knock of 99 from just 52 deliveries to help his side while chasing a massive total of 337. England’s stand-in skipper Jos Buttler also hailed the Englishman at the post-match virtual press conference.

Both Stokes and Buttler are crucial members of the Rajashthan Royals franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The cash-rich league’s 14th edition would be the next assignment for the English duo as the tournament begins next month. During the conference, Buttler said that he hopes Ben Stokes continues with his intimidating form for RR as well.

“He is an intimidating guy to bowl at and may that form continue into tomorrow and as a fellow Rajasthan Royal (team-mate) into the IPL. He (Stokes) has had a few (innings) and his World Cup final (80 odd) one was pretty good. But we all know the talent Ben has. I feel like his batting in the last few years has continued to improve and go to another level and we have seen that in all formats,” Buttler said about Stokes.

Jos Buttler revealed that Stokes always wants to bat and gets involved in the game a lot. He mentioned that team management was not surprised to see him bat so well at a new batting position (number three).

“It was impressive to watch how Ben (Stokes) always wants to bat. He is involved in the game as much as he can. It was fantastic to watch and it was no surprise that he played so well in that position,” Buttler said at the pre-match virtual press conference ahead of the third ODI.
