IPL 2021: “I feel RCB is the right franchise for Glenn Maxwell,’ says Michael Vaughan
Michael Vaughan and Glenn Maxwell
Glenn Maxwell is having a dream run at the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Australian all-rounder is so far the second-highest run-getter (176) in the tournament at an outstanding average of over 58. He played a magnificent knock of 78 runs in 49 balls during RCB’s previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as well.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan feels that the Bangalore-based side is the right franchise for Glenn Maxwell. He added that Chennai Super Kings is the right team for Moeen Ali in a similar way.

“Glenn Maxwell is an incredible cricketer. He has never really flown in the IPL. Like we said about Moeen Ali, Chennai appears to be the spiritual fit for him and the right kind of franchise for Moeen Ali. I really feel RCB is the right franchise for Glenn Maxwell,” Michael Vaughan said while speaking with Cricbuzz.
‘Maxwell is under the radar of Kohli and ABD’: Vaughan
The Englishman said that Glenn Maxwell is under the radar of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the RCB camp. He reckoned that Maxi is a great signing for the Challengers this year.
“Here, he is under the radar, because you have got Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, he is like at the third position, whereas in other teams, he is the one from who usually expectations are high.
“But now he can sneak under the radar and probably he is not getting as much attention as he gets at other teams. Because there is Virat there, and there is AB de Villiers there. I think it’s been a smart move. Maxwell is a great signing this year for RCB,” Michael Vaughan elucidated.
