IPL 2021: “Moeen Ali made no request of removing any logo,” says CSK CEO

Recently, several reports claiming that England all-rounder Moeen Ali had requested Chennai Super Kings management to remove a logo of an alcohol brand from his jersey have made the news. The reports stated that Moeen does not drink alcohol and thus wants the logo of SNJ 10000 to be removed from his shirts.
The franchise had agreed to remove the logo from his shirt was also mentioned in several reports. Issuing clarification on the issue, the franchise has now spoken bout the same and denied all such reports.
Kasi Viswanathan denies reports
Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that no request of such kind was made by Moeen Ali. “There has been no request made by Moeen to CSK to remove any logo,” the CSK CEO was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.
Moeen featured for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020. Released ahead of the 2021 auction, Moeen was roped in by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 7 Crore. This is the first season for the English all-rounder in yellow jersey. Praising MS Dhoni, Moeen recently said, “I think what differentiates CSK from other teams is actually how they structure everything — from the squad they have to the way they do things. They look a very calm franchise that doesn’t panic.”
CSK begin their IPL campaign against Delhi Capitals on the 10th of April.
