Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) today at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It was a much-needed win for the Kings as they arrested their three-match losing streak to go level on points with the defending champions. For MI however, it was a wake-up call as their batting and especially their middle-order has come a cropper more often than not.

The heroes on the night were the PBKS bowlers who used the tricky conditions to bat on extremely well. None of the MI batters with the exception of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav were able to get going. In the end, all that MI could manage was 131 on the board. The chase was then eased with Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle making useful contributions to see it through in 17.4 overs.

PBKS’ batting coach, Wasim Jaffer is well-known for his hilarious tweets and memes on cricket matches. The former Indian opener was extremely active on Twitter during India’s series against Australia and England in the recent past. He has also taken to the site to tweet about the IPL, even as he is occupied as a part of PBKS’ coaching staff.

After today’s match ended, Jaffer posted a picture of a lion along with the caption, “Jab Shikaar Karte Hai, Bada Hee Karte Hai.” meaning that lions don’t prey on the weak. Soon after he posted it, the tweet has gone viral with PBKS fans loving the confidence of their side’s batting coach.

PBKS’ next match is against Kolkata Knight Riders on the 26th of April.
