Mumbai Indians (MI) faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) today and did well to get to a competitive total of 150 on a pitch that held up and favoured the bowlers at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. MI had earlier won the toss and opted to bat first, before getting to a brisk start courtesy some crisp hitting in the Powerplay from skipper Rohit Sharma. However, after his dismissal, things slowed down.
Quinton de Kock cantered to a 40-run knock while the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan disappointed. In the end, it was left to Kieron Pollard to take MI to a good score and that was exactly what the West Indian did as he produced the fireworks at the death to take a score that could have been 130 to a good total of 150.

In the chase, Jonny Bairstow came out all guns blazing and took on the MI bowlers. He was especially harsh on the New Zealand pacers Adam Milne and Trent Boult. His explosive hitting ensured that the equation to win the match was made that much easier for the Orange Army. Even after the pacers were done bowling and spinner Krunal Pandya came in to bowl, Bairstow and skipper David Warner took him on.
In the last ball of Krunal Pandya’s first over, Warner produced an off-drive that raced towards the boundary. Trent Boult who was fielding at mid-off ran to chase the ball but completely lost balance, leading to a hilarious moment where he seemed to be swimming mid-air. This funny bit of action during the match has gone viral with fans enjoying the effort by the New Zealand bowler.
