Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) today in the Indian Premier League (IPL) looking to stop their two-match losing run. KKR had a good start to the tournament when they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, a failure to chase down challenging totals in the next two matches has led to them dropping to an all-too familiar fifth place in the points table.
CSK on the other hand have had a completely opposite start. After losing their first match against Delhi Capitals (DC), they came up with two stupendous performances with the ball to defeat Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) which has led to them sitting pretty in the table. On a roll, they would want their winning run to go on.
Who will win today’s match: KKR vs CSK
KKR have a plethora of problems of their own to address. Their bowling went awry after a good start in their previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They could be tempted to bring in a pacer today. Further, Shakib Al Hasan looked rusty with both bat and ball and this could lead to Sunil Narine being brought in. Despite these changes, CSK’s marauding form could be difficult to get past.
CSK are in form across all three departments. Their deep batting line-up has come handy when they have lost wickets in heaps. Further, the bowling has come together as a unit in the last two matches, following the bashing they received against DC. One would expect this form to continue and hence, CSK would be favourites to win today.
