IPL 2021: Who’s going to win today’s match? – PBKS vs SRH, Match 14

Punjab Kings (PBKS) go head-to-head with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) today in the 3:30 PM match in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both sides aren’t in the best of form and find themselves occupying the bottom two spots in the table. They would hence, be desperate for a win today and a loss could seriously affect their early hopes of making it to the playoffs amidst the excellent form of the other sides.

SRH haven’t won a single game yet and each of their matches has followed the same template. Their bowlers have done a decent job in restricting opponents but their batting has been a huge concern. The middle order has been unable to fire on a consistent basis and they have been found wanting in terms of keeping the scoreboard ticking. They would want that to change when they face PBKS who also have their fair share of problems.

This could be a difficult match to predict due to how badly both sides need a win. SRH are clearly the worse off of the two sides due to their winless run so far. PBKS were excellent with the bat in their first match, but their bowling has looked woefully out of sorts. The SRH middle order would thus, have the perfect opportunity to bounce back and make a statement that they can deliver, unlike what their previous performances have shown.

SRH’s team balance seems about right despite their losses while PBKS’ entire team combination looks shaky due to their alarmingly long tail while having just five bowling options. There is an urgent need to bring in an all-rounder for PBKS and SRH could be able to come good against the weak bowling attack.

Prediction: SRH to notch up their first win of the season
