IPL 2021: ‘Wouldn’t have been too upset if he had hit the last ball for a six’ – Chris Morris on Sanju Samson denying him a single
Chris Morris and Sanju Samson
Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Chris Morris slammed four sixes in the last two overs off Kagiso Rabada and Tom Curran during the match against Delhi Capitals. As a result, the Proteas cricketer clinched the victory for his side from the jaws of defeat to open their account in the Points Table.
The ‘man of the moment’ talked about the incident that took place between him and Sanju Samson during the last match against Punjab Kings. The RR skipper had denied him a single on the penultimate delivery with five runs left on the last ball. However, Samson failed to hit a boundary as he got out on that ball. Morris said that he wouldn’t have been too upset if Sanju had hit the last ball for a six.
“I was gonna run back no matter what because Sanju was hitting it so sweetly. People underestimate how fast I run. Sanju was hitting it like a dream that night. I wouldn’t have been too upset if he had hit the last ball for a six,” said Morris.
‘DC hit the length a lot better than us’: Morris
Chris Morris mentioned that DC bowlers hit the length a lot better than the Royals did. However, he revealed that dew played a part during the run chase. The most expensive buy in the IPL history also hailed his teammate David Miller who smashed a brilliant half-century to set the tone for their side.
“I think the dew plays a part here. I think they hit the length a lot better than we did and they got a lot of guys skying with the extra bounce. But we would have taken a chase of 140-odd. There are guys that get paid to bat and guys that get paid to slog, and I know which I am. That’s why I play so much golf,” Morris said.
“That happens every now and then in the game of cricket, I thought Delhi played really well. Dave played a great hand and it went out way,” he added.
