IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals’ team bus attacked in Mumbai; police file an FIR

Two weeks from now, the fifteenth edition of IPL will take place. CSK will face KKR in the tournament opener, which will take place from March 26 to May 29. However, an unexpected incident occurred with a Delhi Capitals bus. The IPL 2021 finalists will go toe-to-toe with each other at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Meanwhile, an unexpected incident happened in Mumbai just days ahead of the IPL.

The cricket fraternity was shocked to learn of an unknown group of wrongdoers who crossed their limits and committed something against mankind. Mumbai Police took immediate action against a group of miscreants who attacked the Delhi Capitals’ parked team bus. This was not expected to happen, even though it did happen. According to the police, FIRs have been filed against the suspects for allegedly attacking the parked vehicle. Thankfully, none of the players or members of Delhi Capitals were inside.

There were five to six strangers who planned to create a scene on Wednesday. It appears they were going to attack the team bus of the Delhi Capitals. Five to six unknown persons were charged by Mumbai Police under sections 143,147,149,427 of the IPC for obvious reasons. These strangers were committing unlawful activities in public places.

“An FIR has been registered against 5-6 unknown persons under sections 143,147,149,427 of IPC for allegedly attacking the Delhi Capital IPL team parked bus, police said,” ANI tweeted.

Delhi Capitals Looking forward to start their Campaign of IPL 2022

Last week, Delhi Capitals revealed their new jersey for the tournament. DC shared an image of their new jersey on their social media handles. It looks totally different from their previous jersey. Delhi Capitals will begin their campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 27 in the second game of the IPL 2022. The match will kick off at Brabourne Stadium

Rishabh Pant will lead Delhi Capitals from the front. Under his captaincy, Delhi Capitals qualified for the playoffs in the last season. Moreover, they finished at the top of the IPL 2021 points table. However, they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the second qualifier. DC have been one of the consistent teams in the last three seasons. Notably, they qualified for the playoffs in the last 3 editions. They also made it to the final once back in IPL 2020 season but lost to Mumbai Indians.
