Ian Garry is a promising prospect who has impressed fans with strong performances, defeating opponents like Michael Page and Geoff Neal. Despite his success inside the octagon, his controversial persona outside alienated many fight fans. His outspoken nature, brash comments, and various beefs led to a divide among fight fans. Recently, though, a new fight announcement has shifted public opinion.
Garry has always been a fighter with big ambitions and the intention to go against anybody. Recent reports have suggested that the Irishman will now take on lethal knockout specialist, Carlos Prates. Both fighters agreed to the short-notice fight after the much-anticipated Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree fight got scrapped.
The fight will take place on 26th April inside the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, and it will be Garry’s back-to-back short-notice bout. Before this, he fought top welterweight contender Shavkat Rakhmonov and managed to put on a great performance. The criticism against Garry started due to his relationship with Layla Anna-Lee; the couple is married and has a 14-year age gap.

Layla’s 2010 satirical audiobook, “How to Be a WAG,” caused controversy due to its humorous take on being a “WAG.” Colby Covington mocked the couple, making disrespectful comments about their relationship. The television presenter defended their bond, debunking rumors and criticisms, and both Garry and Layla have addressed the online harassment.
Garry wanted to settle the beef with Covington inside the octagon, but didn’t get the opportunity. Despite challenges, the couple has stayed strong, emphasizing their love and support for one another. On the other hand, ‘The Future’ kept on impressing fans with back to back good performances. Going into UFC Kansas City, fans are expecting the same from Garry.
