IShowSpeed ends YouTube stream after racist user sends him a donation

IShowSpeed has risen to be one of the most popular streamers in the community right now. While he used to stream on Twitch earlier, his chaotic shenanigans ended up getting him banned from the platform. The streamer now uses YouTube as his main channel, where he streams on a regular basis. During a recent YouTube livestream, IShowSpeed ended up abruptly ending his stream after a racist user made a donation to his channel.
The racist user’s profile name referred to Speed as a “cotton picker,” which was an obvious dig at his cultural lineage. Naturally, this did not sit well with the streamer and he ended up ending his livestream earlier than usual.

IShowSpeed can normally be labelled as one of the most sporting streamers in the community, as he is always pulling pranks on other streamers and is subject to many such pranks himself as well. Recently, he was tricked into believing that Fortnite had made a skin based on him. However, he could not stomach the racist joke made by a supposed fan, and he ended up getting off his stream earlier than usual.

The user sent the donation through a profile that had “Speed is a Cotton Picker” as its name. This obviously racist remark did not sit well with the streamer, who was initially in disbelief of the donation.
“What is happening? No way you just donated that.”
Once he checked that the donation truly said what he suspected, the streamer decided that he did not want to deal with such racism, and simply ended his livestream abruptly.
“I’m not doing this sh*t today.”
So far, Speed has not commented on the incident after his stream, but fans and fellow creators are livid about the issue.

Right after Jake Lucky tweeted about the incident, fans poured in to share their thoughts about the incident.
Racist comments and donations are nothing new on Twitch. Naturally, fans were enraged that people still send such comments to streamers of various ethnicities on public platforms to humiliate them.
