IShowSpeed still wants to race Tyreek Hill. The YouTube sensation remembers how the Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver challenged him but avoided honoring his own words.

Speed appeared on a recent segment of Shannon Sharpe’s podcast Club Shay Shay. Sharpe asked Speed to describe why Hill doesn’t want to race him even though he was the one who threw the challenge at him.

Tyreek challenged me first, and then I challenged him back. I think Tyreek was joking at first, but then it became serious.

IShowSpeed told Sharpe.

Speed revealed pulling up to the Dolphins facility to race the Super Bowl winner, but he shoved excuses at his face to postpone the bout.

He ducked me. He was genuinely scared [and] he didn’t want to take the risk of racing me because he knew that it would have been bad for him.

Speed added.

Sharpe further asked Speed if he could beat Hill in a 40 or 50-yard dash.

100%… I can beat Tyreek Hill in a 40 [but] Tyreek Hill is scared, man.

Speed replied.

IShowSpeed reveals the reason why Tyreek Hill avoids racing him

NFL receivers pride themselves on not just being good catchers but also as quick ball carriers. To be a successful YAC [Yards After Catch] merchant, a receiver needs to be quick on his feet, and Hill is one of the few who are genuinely fast off the block.

As a rookie back in 2016, Hill clocked 23.24 miles per hour in a Week 2 game for the Kansas City Chiefs. He also boasts a 4.29-second 40-yard dash during his West Alabama Pro Day outing. Since then, he has lifted the Lombardi Trophy once and won five All-Pro honors. Speed highlighted the reason Hill avoids racing him.

If I beat him, his stock goes down. If I beat Tyreek Hill, his stock [will] go down. It just means I am the fastest man alive.

Speed said.

Even if he manages to beat Hill in a straight line, that doesn’t take away the 30-year-old’s achievements over the years. Additionally, the ability to juke players and break a few ankles will not magically disappear either. He will still be Tyreek Hill, whom the corners fear to face.

Speed isn’t one of them, so he rephrased the challenge right back at Hill.

Tyreek Hill put your career on the line, put your contract… put everything—even your life—on the line. Race me 40 yards. I give you whatever/how many weeks you need. 40 yards certain date. He’s not going to beat me.

Speed said.

Hill’s 2024 season hasn’t gone according to plan. After eleven games, Hill has 49 catches for 571 yards and 3 touchdowns.
