ISL: Bengaluru FC and Hyderabad split points in a disappointing draw
Bengaluru FC vs Hyderabad ended in a dull 0-0 draw in ISL. The draw benefited Hyderabad more as they are struggling with injuries. Meanwhile, Bengaluru fell to a second consecutive draw this season which will surely worry the coach. Moreover, Hyderabad could only to get one shot on target while Bengaluru couldn’t even manage one. This stat provides the true context of the match as both sides were happy to sit back. Nevertheless, it’s just the start of the season and teams will take to get into their rhythm. After this match, Bengaluru FC lie at sixth spot in the table whereas Hyderabad lie at third.
Both sides struggle in attack
Hyderabad have transformed by a lot this season. Moreover, the team which struggled to keep even a single clean sheet last season has now managed to keep consecutive clean sheets this season. The main reason for this new found solidity is the tactics of coach, Manuel Roca. However, Sastre and Chianese went off injured which will severely test the squad strength of Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru severely struggled to break down the resolute defense of Hyderabad. The star player of the team, Sunil Chhetri was hardly able to get a touch of the ball and this restricted their creativity. Although, the silver lining here for Bengaluru is that their defense held up well after conceding 2 goals in the opening match against Goa. Moreover, the coach of the team, Cuadrat will need to get the attack firing as on paper Bengaluru have the best forwards in ISL.
The only meaningful chance of the game fell to Hyderabad as Santana’s bullet header was saved by the stretching hand of Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. Nevertheless, both the teams will need to improve their efficiency in front of the goal in order to challenge for the ISL Title. Bengaluru FC face a strong side in Chennaiyin FC next whereas Hyderabad go up against Jamshedpur.
