As an exciting sporting event approaches, many individuals prepare to try their luck at gambling. One of the most action-packed boxing fight cards is set to take place in just a few hours. Undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev will defend his title against Dmitry Bivol. Given the excitement surrounding this matchup, former UFC champion Israel Adesanya aims to make a profit from it.
In addition to the headliner matchup, the fight card features several top-level boxers, including Joseph Parker, Shakur Stevenson, and Zhilei Zhang. Notably, UFC superstar Israel Adesanya has expressed interest in two specific matchups. ‘Izzy’ has even invested a significant amount of money in the fights between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, as well as Joseph Parker and Martin Bakole.
As revealed by Adesanya himself, he placed a total of $20,000 on both Bivol and Parker to win by decision. If he wins, the former UFC middleweight champion could receive a payout of three times his initial bet, totaling nearly $66,000. Interestingly, Adesanya may have his reasons for investing in these two boxers. Notably, Parker, like the UFC fighter, also represents New Zealand on the global stage.
Adesanya has always been impressed by the skillset of Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol, which is why he chose to place his money on him. This isn’t the first time ‘Izzy’ has wagered on a major boxing event. Notably, given his Nigerian roots, Adesanya also placed significant money as a bet on Anthony Joshua to win against Daniel Dubois. Unfortunately, Joshua did not win, and as a result, ‘Izzy’ lost his bet.
Did Israel Adesanya bet on Dmitry Bivol during the initial clash against Artur Beterbiev?
The upcoming clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol is a rematch between two Russian light heavyweight boxers. In their initial encounter, both fighters competed for the undisputed title and put their perfect records on the line. As anticipated, Beterbiev and Bivol engaged in a closely contested 12-round match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

After their clash, Bivol was defeated by a majority decision from the judges. Interestingly, UFC superstar Israel Adesanya, known for his gambling habits, expected to win a significant payout of $17,000 if Bivol were to defeat Beterbiev with his boxing skills. However, that didn’t happen, and Adesanya experienced a setback in his luck.
Interestingly, even though Bivol lost, he and his team were not satisfied with the decision. As a result, the former light heavyweight world boxing champion has vowed to avenge his defeat against Beterbiev. That being said, it will be interesting to see who emerges as the victor in a few hours.
