The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has been wreaking havoc in Nigeria, and of late it has become too inhumane irking uproar from various notable people all around the world. Various protestors are being brutalized and killed mercilessly. It has gone to the point of random innocent people getting caught up in the police brutality and murdered in cold blood. The #EndSars movement has been gaining a lot of momentum since 2017 and various celebrities like rapper Kanye West, footballer Odion Ighalo, actor John Boyega and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey have voiced their support for the #EndSars campaign.

Latest to join the bandwagon is UFC’s very own Nigerian born – New Zealand mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya. Taking to twitter, Adesanya expressed his angst and disgust over the mass killings of protesters in Nigeria; he called for an immediate end to the police brutality.

“It’s time to fight” – Israel Adesanya

“I actually don’t know what else to do. I’m over begging for human rights. It’s time to fight! #endsars“, Adesanya tweeted posting a video which showed a man with his limbs tied, and heavy logs placed over his arched back. He was hung, with fire burning very close to him, at the same time getting beaten up by the SARS.

Kamaru Usman, the Welterweight champion and fellow Nigerian voiced out too, tweeting that the country needs the president more than ever.

A dejected Adesanya, replied saying, “They don’t really care about us.”

In a world being run down by a dangerous pandemic, this police brutality has given the world leaders another problem to be dealt with. When will this long running issue end? Why can’t everyone embrace humanity? Too many points to ponder upon. Let’s hope for the best.
