As reports suggest that UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is set to make his comeback in the division against former rival Marvin Vettori for a title defense.

Israel Adesanya is coming back to his home division after a defeat on his first try at an upper weight class. ‘The Last Stylebender’ is coming off a loss against the light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Israel has already mentioned he wants to go back to dominating the middleweight division like he used to before he becomes ambitious.

Analysts and viewers believe this fight be THE chance for the Italian to bag gold in the division. Given that Adesanya’s confidence might be a little rattled after his defeat against Blachowicz, this might Vettori’s time to shine.

The UFC bossman spoke about the potential Israel Adesanya vs Marvin Vettori fight on the podcast, “A guy that I am high on right now is a guy named Marvin Vettori. And it’s looking like Rob Whittaker who fought on Saturday Night won’t be able to fight Israel Adesanya when Israel wants to fight. So it will probably be Marvin Vettori first.”

Marvin Vettori is coming off a 5-fight winning streak in the UFC. His most recent victory was against Kevin Holland at the UFC Fight Night event on the 11th of April. That bout saw complete domination of Vettori. The last time the Italian lost was in the first Israel Adesanya vs Marvin Vettori bout in 2018.

This is Marvin’s first title fight in his UFC career and he will looking to write his name on the champion’s book. He has picked up wins against top fighters like Kevin Holland and Jack Hermansson to climb up the charts as a top ranked fighter. For Adesanya, this is will be his first bout after a defeat given that the Nigerian has never lost.
