Women’s 10m Air Pistol Junior

India’s Varsha Singh and Esha Singh finished 4th and 5th respectively and were unable to prevent a Chinese podium sweep in the Women’s 10m AP Junior competition.

Varsha (248.9), after a disastrous 8.1 in her final shot, missed out on a bronze by just 0.2 points to Shen Yiyao (249.1). A poor 1st series cost Esha.

Gold went to Wang Siyu who beat Zhao Nan 16-6.

India’s Kanishka Dagar (569) finished 13th; Shikha Narwal (565) finished 19th despite a 100 in her 4th series.

None of the scores would have been enough to qualify for the Senior finals where the cut-off was 580.

Esha had earlier won gold in Women’s 25m Pistol Junior. The trio of Esha, Varsha and Shikha had won gold in the Women’s 10m AP Team Junior event.
