It all started by bunking Classes: Amdani

Moinuddin Amdani

The young champion started to play this game way back in 2012 when he was in school. He used to bunk classes and go to the Oscar cyber cafe near Mumbai CST Railway station. Firstly, he started to play this game on Play station 2 and now with Play station 4. The cyber café used to cost him around Rupees 30 per Hour.

“I bunked classes in school and made my time in the cyber so this is how it started,” Amdani says.

Moinuddin Amdani says his favorite game is football and his favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo. So, he preferred to play football, particularly in the Cyber Café. He used to defeat all players who came to play with him in the café. This made him grind more every day and improve his skills wisely.

“I only wanted to play a football video game when I first went to the video game parlor and the only one, they had loaded on their Play Station console was PES,” he says.

The manager and the staff of the Oscar Cyber Café were very supportive of him for the tournament. So, the manager offered him a private space in the café, a separate console for him. There was no good Internet connectivity so the store manager took the initiative and spoke to the internet provider. Provided Moinuddin with a separate dedicated LAN connection only for his console. when Amdani told the manager about the tournament, he visits the cybercafé even today to practice for the tournament.

I just gave a try it showed me a second path: Amdani

The champ says that he used to follow The Social Media pages of Esports Federation of India (ESFI), as we know that technology brings every information to our knowledge. He saw a poster on Facebook, he decided to give a try in it and won the game. His first tournament was back in 2019.

“I just gave a try, it showed me a second path,” says Amdani.

The Mumbaikar spends his whole day supporting his father in the garments business from morning 10 AM to 9 PM. He then goes to the parlor at 10 PM and plays till 11:30 PM.

“I would stay in the shop longer than usual. When business is low, to get every customer you can,” he added.

Further, Amdani also says that he will only be playing Football and not any other game in the future.

He said, “I dedicated 8 years playing this game and I am professional in it I don’t want to get into a new game and start it now and try to become a champion in it and it is not possible to be a champion in new games at a very short period.”

He also broke up with the truth about why he has no sponsors while saying, “I was offered with a sponsorship by Stalwart Esports which was announced publicly on their Social Media platforms but they never spoke about the salary and never contacted back,” Adami added.

Later Stalwart Esports contacted him when he was qualified for the World Championship and requested Amdani to play for the organization. But they later back off when ESFI confirmed that the Esports name will not be put anywhere in the tournament as the player will be representing the country and not the Organization. Since the credit will be given to the country and nowhere will the organization be in the scene, no one came forward to sponsor him. He has no sponsorship now and is all alone.
