Spain’s Rafael Nadal has already stated that he is ready and raring to represent his country at the Tokyo Olympic Games and win medals. However, he now seems uncertain as to how the Games would be able to fit in amidst the tight schedule that tennis stars are faced with at the moment.

The Tokyo Games were postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The situation still remains unclear as to whether the Games will go ahead as scheduled amid the pandemic or not. The organizers of the Games have remained stubborn in their claims that they will go ahead as per schedule with the following of the COVID-19 protocols.

Nadal won a gold in singles and doubles in the 2008 Beijing Olympics as well as the 2016 Rio Olympics. He has now stated in an interview that he would seek the opinion of experts before deciding on whether or not he should participate in the Olympic Games if they do go ahead in Tokyo.

“I am just a tennis player, a human person that doesn’t have enough knowledge about all the situation. I don’t know, combining our Tour with another 15 days of quarantine to play Olympics. It looks difficult to fix it in our calendar. I think everybody wants to play in (the) Olympic Games, then let’s see what’s going on,” Nadal said.
