However Chelsea had Maurizio Sarri as the manager then and there was no doubt that Jorginho would reunite with Sarri rather than go with Guardiola. This created a major rift between further business for Manchester City and Napoli in the future.

Jorginho was a consistent player under Maurizio Sarri and received criticism from the fans as well who didn’t like his possession game tactics. A typical regista type player, Jorginho lost his place to Matteo Kovacic to Frank Lampard.

“Football is dynamic, and nothing can be ruled out. If Sarri returns to Napoli, he would make an attempt to bring Jorginho back. He is perfect for his football. I can’t rule it out. He has two years left in his contract, and is a regular starter for Italy. However, with a good project, he would be open to coming back” said Santos.
