Roger Federer has said that he is in a race against time to prepare himself for the Australian Open 2021. The 20 day postponement of the tournament would certainly work in his favour but he has stated he might need a bit longer than that to recover. Federer’s last match on the professional tour came at the Australian Open 2020 itself, when he lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the semifinals.

“It’s a race against time for the Australian Open. I’m curious to see whether it will start on February 8. Of course, it would help if I had a bit more time,” said Federer.
