“It’s always a possibility” Luka Doncic on catching up to LeBron James in the future
Luka Doncic and LeBron James
Luka Doncic continues to dominate the NBA with his stellar performances. Even though the Mavericks went down fighting against the Celtics in their matchup today, Luka once again led the scoring efforts for Dallas. He scored 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists in the 31 minutes that he played. By the looks of it, it surely doesn’t look like one of Luka Doncic’s performances, which made the headlines with 3 straight 50+ point games, but it was still top-notch.
Doncic definitely has the potential to surpass all the greats, even perhaps LeBron James. He has fulfilled the expectations that Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks had for him when they traded their 2018 NBA Draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks. The Mavs have been led all season by the Slovenian superstar, who has ridiculous averages of 34.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game on nearly 62% true shooting.
He is frequently likened to none other than LeBron James because of the manner in which he plays. They don’t exactly have the same skill sets, despite the fact that they are both outstanding playmakers. Recently, Doncic was asked about, James and his impending milestone in relation to surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. This is what he had to say.
He said, “It’s always a possibility, but it’s going to be really tough. You gotta have a guy that plays for 20 years… If you’re saying me, there’s no way, ’cause I’m not playing that much.” Luka Doncic joined the league half a decade ago, and it doesn’t appear that he plans to play in the league for another 15 years in a row. Unlike Dirk Nowitzki, who handed him the Dallas Mavericks ring, Luka has no desire to play in the NBA for even a fraction of that time.

Luka Doncic-led Mavericks end their 7-game winning streak with a loss to Boston Celtics
Unfortunately, the Dallas Mavericks’ seven-game winning streak was interrupted by the Boston Celtics on Thursday night. The Mavs were without Josh Green, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Maxi Kleber, three of their greatest defenders, which allowed the Celtics, who are now atop the Eastern Conference, to capitalize. The Celtics entered American Airlines Center hoping to snap a three-game losing streak. The Mavs’ reserves made a late run, but the Celtics prevailed 124-95 in the end.
Luka Doncic, who was on the ropes for the majority of the game, finished with a team-high 23 points for the club on 7-23 shooting from the field, including 0-6 from 3-point range. Additionally, Doncic had a night with nine rebounds and three assists
