Ciryl Gane, takes on Junior dos Santos in the main card of UFC 256, this weekend. The 30-year old Frenchman is undefeated in his six fights as a professional mixed martial artist. He also has an excellent Muay Thai background having won all of his seven fights in kickboxing. The UFC heavyweight is currently the number 14 ranked heavyweight contender and a win against number 7 ranked former heavyweight champion, Junior dos Santos, will propel him to great heights.

In the wake of this, Ciryl Gane spoke about his teammate Francis Ngannou and his upcoming fight with Junior dos Santos, in an interview with the Bash MMA.

“If I win against Junior, it’s going to be really close in the top-10” – Ciryl Gane

Gane said he might go head to head with Francis Ngannou, if he keeps winning. “I think now, the division, for me, if I win against Junior, it’s going to be really close in the top-10. You understand? We can’t avoid it. It’s something that will happen anyway, we cannot avoid that fight anyway. It is a sport, that’s normal,” he said.

Speaking about his relationship with Francis now, Gane said, “No, because when I arrived at the gym, in the MMA Factory, Francis had already left for Vegas. I saw Francis a few times when he came back to Paris to prepare for a fight. So, no, I’m not really close to Francis now.”

Ciryl Gane also had words of praise for the big Cameroonian. “Francis is a really big man. Not only in his fights, in the cage. Always, in the training too!“, he said.

Comparing himself with Francis Ngannou, Gane said, “Everybody knows that the strength of Francis is his power. And, everyone knows my strength. I move a lot, I have the footwork”.
