Vancouver Canucks alternate captain J.T. Miller will be out from the lineup indefinitely due to “personal reasons.” The exact reason for his leave of absence was not announced by the team as they said to only support and be there for the forward in time of need.

Canucks GM Patrik Allvin said that they won’t comment on this incident any further and wishes the fans respect his privacy. According to Patrick Johnston of ‘The Province’, Miller is not out due to any substance or alcohol usage.

He just needs time to “re-set himself mentally” before getting back to his 100% form. In the past few games, he could not perform like his usual self and was even benched during Canucks loss to the Nashville Predators on Sunday.

Canucks forward Elias Pettersson commented how they will wait for J.T. Miller to be back in the lineup and just stay by his side to support him. Captain Quinn Hughes also noted how he is confident in keeping the team going to make sure Miller returns in a positive state.

Obviously, he’s a massive part of our team and a superstar in the league…But at the same time, we have a lot of confidence in the guys we have here. Coming into the year we thought we had a contending team, and it’s not just one guy, it’s our whole group.

Quinn Hughes as per Ryan Gaydos of Fox News.com.

Miller has been part of the Canucks since the 2019-20 season and last year recorded 37 goals and 66 assists. His career high is 103 points. Before joining the Canucks he was part of the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Rangers.
