Morant’s minutes have still been compromised following a right ankle injury earlier in the preseason. The star is likely to resume his normal game time soon with the team carefully maneuvering his health. As per the team, Morant will likely play a substantial number of minutes in their upcoming match against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Memphis Grizzlies are still monitoring Ja Morant’s ankle
After Ja Morant came down with a right ankle injury, the team put him in a bubble wrap to start the season. For perspective, Morant had failed to log in 30 minutes of game time in five of the matches he had appeared in. This decision came from the management with hope of elongating the star’s health this season.
Head coach Taylor Jenkins was asked about Morant’s minutes earlier in the season. He boiled it down to the guard not having played enough games to settle into his body. Jenkins also pointed out that Morant will soon resume his pre-injury minutes as soon as the medical team gives the green light.
Nonetheless, Morant played close to 29 minutes in their recent win against the Bucks, marking signs of positive reinforcement for the team. Going forward the team will be in dire need of Morant in their rematch against Brooklyn.
