Head coach Jerod Mayo abstained from making a direct comment on the situation. He told the media that the Patriots have not taken immediate action and cut Jabrill Peppers. He is still on the team.

I don’t think anyone knows the facts or anything like that. It’s a process.

Jerod Mayo said

The team has informed the safety’s arrest to the NFL. On a conference call with the media, he was asked if there would be consideration to place Peppers on the Commissioner’s exempt list.

The head coach refrained from making any direct statements.

We informed the NFL and we’re still gathering information. I know the team put out a statement earlier today. I’m not sure how the league and how we are going to handle that going forward but we should have some more information over the next few days.

Jerod Mayo explained

Peppers is expected to join the team after his arraignment.

He’s not in the building today, he has his court appearance. As we gather information, he can definitely be in the building. We don’t know enough to say that he shouldn’t be in the building.

Jerod Mayo concluded

The Patriots are in no rush to take action against Peppers. The team is convinced of his innocence until proven otherwise.

Signed as a free agent in 2022 by the Patriots, Jabrill Peppers signed a three-year extension with the team up to $30 million. He has stood out on the field in the past few seasons and earned the spot of captain on the roster. New England is 1-4 so far this season.
