The news of New England Patriots’ safety Jabrill Peppers’ arrest has taken his teammates and fans aback. He was arrested on Saturday over charges of assault, strangulation, and drug possession by the Braintree, Massachusetts police.

Following his arraignment on Monday, disturbing and gore details have emerged of the reason for the safety’s arrest. Peppers’ girlfriend has told officers that the Patriots’ captain put his hands around her neck, proceeded to slam her head into the wall, and then pushed her down a flight of stairs.

Jabrill Peppers and his attorney have disputed the claims made by the woman

The Patriots’ safety and his attorney refuted the claims made by the woman. Peppers told his attorney that he asked the woman to leave his apartment numerous times and did not touch her.

He denied pushing her down the stairs and said that she was making those allegations to destroy his career.

Jabrill Peppers’ attorney said

His attorney doubled down in support of his client and stated that Peppers had evidence contradictory to the victim’s statement.

He claims to have video and other evidence supporting Peppers’ story.

What I said in the court room, I’ll repeat: We have evidence that completely contradicts the alleged victim’s story, and I expect my client to be fully exonerated.

A hearing has been set for November 22. He has been released on bond from the Quincy District Court and is expected to join the Patriots to continue playing for the season.

At the moment, neither the NFL nor the New England Patriots are looking to make a move in haste against Peppers. The safety has informed head coach Jerod Mayo and the team of his situation and they have conveyed the same to the league office.

Right now, it is a waiting game, until the legal proceedings conclude, Jabrill Peppers is expected to be playing. The star safety signed a three-year deal earlier this off-season to remain in New England.
