Novak Djokovic lost his No. 1 position to Jannik Sinner after withdrawing from the French Open due to a torn meniscus in his right knee. He also dropped to No. 3 with Carlos Alcaraz claiming the French Open and leapfrogging him to No. 2. However, Alcaraz’s stay in the position has been short-lived after a big upset at the Queen’s Championship.
British star Jack Draper was just returning from his victory in Stuttgart and proved he could be a serious contender for titles when beat Alcaraz in the second round of the Queen’s Championship. The Spaniard was the favorite to successfully defend but fell short in 6-7, 3-6 defeat to Draper yesterday.

Alcaraz was defending 500 ATP points after claiming the title last year. However, he won only his first-round match against Francisco Cerundolo, causing him to lose 450 points in the process. This points loss will see Alcaraz drop to No. 3, while Djokovic will return to the No. 2 position if he is fit to compete in Wimbledon.
The 37-year-old Serbian is racing to be fit for Wimbledon after suffering a meniscus tear and undergoing surgery. He has been aiming to recover as soon as possible and recently shared a video of himself running on grass. Nonetheless, the news that he will be seeded No. 2 at Wimbledon may give him the needed boost to compete at the major grass event.
Novak Djokovic has already been included in Serbia’s Olympic team list, as announced by the country’s Olympic committee. The 24-time Grand Slam winner is aiming for the most coveted gold medal at the Olympics as he has only one bronze to boast, despite having participated in the tournament four times.
Carlos Alcaraz focused on defending next title
Carlos Alcaraz is now focused on winning the Wimbledon after exiting the Queen’s Club Championship yesterday. He has his eyes on defending his next grass crown.

The 21-year-old will be hoping to forget the Queen’s Championship as he heads to Wimbledon just weeks after his excellent triumph at the French Open.

Alcaraz needs to work on maintaining consistency on the court after each victory, something that has been lacking in his game recently. He is a top player but sometimes loses when there isn’t much pressure on him.
