Jack Grealish set to return for Villa against Fulham

After a long lay-off due to injury, the England international is all set to make his return to club football on Saturday. Though Jack Grealish is yet to be declared fully fit for the game, his return to training has handed Aston Villa a big boost ahead of their game. The club missed his services badly and have fallen back in their pursuit of European spots. The return of their prominent player can improve the team’s ability to stage a comeback. Currently, Aston Villa find themselves in the tenth position with a game in hand. The final phase of the league will kick start on Saturday after an international break.

What happened in Jack Grealish’s absence?

Jack Grealish got injured ahead of the game against Leicester City where the team had to settle for a 2-1 defeat. The news was leaked before the game and the team owners were unhappy about the leak. However, the fantasy players were happy as they had enough time to change their line-up.

Aston Villa have forgotten the “C” of creativity in the absence of Jack Grealish. In his absence, the team has scored just three goals in six Premier League games. On top of it, the team has only one win six top-flight games. The poor run of form has hurt Villa’s chance to finish in European spots and they sit five adrift of seventh-placed Liverpool.

Jack Grealish was one of the top five playmakers in Europe alongside Bruno Fernandes and Kevin de Bruyne. However, the injury has derailed his plans of winning the accolade. In 22 Premier League games, the player has six goals and 10 assists to his name. Also, he has completed 57 dribbles out of 88 in Premier League for Aston Villa. Dean Smith will like to field the player at the earliest on Saturday against Fulham without risking him again.
