At AEW All In, Bryan Danielson finally got his hands on the world title after he defeated Swerve Strickland in the main event. Following up on this victory, Danielson addressed the fans on last night’s Dynamite. Calling the win the biggest moment of his career, the legend looked forward to being a defending champion. As such, he laid down an open challenge for the upcoming All Out PPV.

Moments later, Jack Perry appeared on the Titantron and accepted the challenge. Recalling his pinfall win at Double or Nothing, Perry vowed to end Danielson’s career at All Out. After warning the latter, The Scapegoat snuck up from behind to attack the new AEW World Champion. The closing shot of the show saw Perry standing tall over Bryan, holding both the TNT and world titles.

Following the show, AEW made the match official for the PPV that will be taking place in less than two weeks. This move came as a surprise considering there are already two #1 contenders lying in wait for a shot. Christian Cage, who won the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In, claimed an opportunity to challenge the world champion at any time and place.

In addition to that, Darby Allin has a guaranteed title shot after winning a battle royal on Rampage a month ago. Nonetheless, Jack Perry and Bryan Danielson will most likely tear the house down when they clash at the Now Arena in Hoffman, Illinois.

Fans react to Jack Perry challenging Bryan Danielson at AEW All Out

The decision to have Jack Perry face Bryan Danielson at All Out was met with criticism from fans. Users took to X to voice their disappointment. A few fans felt that this was AEW’s way of justifying the firing of CM Punk. The latter was let go by Tony Khan after a backstage altercation with Perry at All In 2023.

Although some understood the choice, others believed that it wasn’t appropriate for Danielson’s first title defense. One user compared it to Kurt Angle‘s retirement match, where he faced Baron Corbin at WrestleMania. Some fans pointed out the lackluster crowd reaction to Perry’s revelation.

Meanwhile, another user jokingly said that he wished Punk had taken out Konosuke Takeshita or HOOK instead. While Cody Rhodes faced AJ Styles in his first championship defense, fans felt that Danielson deserved an opponent similar to that stature. Overall, the levels of excitement for this match aren’t exactly high at the moment.
