Saturday Night’s Main Event featured an exhibition match between Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu. Over the past few months, WWE has refrained from putting non-title matches on these big shows unless they feature some of their biggest names. However, the promotion decided to give these two superstars a chance, and boy, was it worth it.
These two superstars had a brutal match. They did not hold back from hitting each other hard and fought all over ringside. Braun Strowman started running freight trains around the ring. He sent Fatu crashing into the barricade the first time and into the announcers’ desk the second. However, the Samoan Werewolf was able to counter the third charge and hit a Samoan Drop onto the commentary desk.
The two superstars went back into the ring, and Jacob Fatu got his opponent into the corner. The Tribal Wolf started hitting the Monster Among Men with repeated hit attacks, crushing his head into the turnbuckle. The match official tried to get him to stop, but the former MLW star threw him out of the ring, leading to Fatu getting disqualified.

Fatu then started throwing steel chairs into the ring, leading to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis and other WWE officials coming out to stop him. However, the 32-year-old began tossing the chairs at the security to fend them off. By this time, the former Universal Champion was busted open and seen bleeding profusely. This did not stop the Tribal Wolf, who hit Strowman with two moonsaults. Finally, Tama Tonga showed up to talk his teammate into backing down and took him back into the arena.
WWE Universe is petrified after Jacob Fatu brutalizes Braun Strowman at Saturday Night’s Main Event
The wrestling world was taken aback after seeing this kind of brutality at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Although WWE has been willing to do more violent spots over the past year, this was very unexpected for an NBC show, which pulls many new viewers of all ages. Seeing the savagery of Jacob Fatu, a fan said that the Samoan should be arrested. This beatdown was even more surprising, considering that Braun Strowman revealed that he was sick just a few days ago.
A social media user said that it is now evident why they did not let the 32-year-old be himself around Solo Sikoa, as he would have wholly outshined his leader. Furthermore, the crowd did a great job during this segment, too. They hyped up Fatu by repeatedly chanting for him and asked for more moonsaults on the former Universal Champion. Another netizen also mentioned how well the security guard sold being hit by the chair in the face.

Fans were happy that these superstars got TV time on such a big show. Strowman has been with the company for years. He has been made to either play comedic roles or help put over numerous talents on the main roster. Meanwhile, Fatu is arguably the company’s biggest rising star and will definitely be a perennial main event player in the future. Thus, these two definitely deserved to have the spot that they did, and it was nice to see them make the most of it.
