The August 23rd, 2024, episode of SmackDown featured the reunion of the Big Three: Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Naomi. They defeated the trio of The Unholy Union and Blair Davenport and put on a highly impressive showing. However, what struck fans most was their impressive ring gear for the night.
Speaking on the Masked Men Show, the Women’s Tag Team Champions revealed how the ring gear came about. It was inspired by the Olympian Simone Biles, one of the best female gymnasts of all time. They felt that the time to do something like that had passed as the Olympics had already ended two weeks ago. However, when they found out that the three of them would be teaming up together once again, Naomi pushed for the idea to happen.
Belair revealed that she wished for Biles to see their outfit. She had talked to the American gymnast before regarding mental health, which the 27-year-old was a huge advocate for. The former Women’s Champion realized that the Olympian’s DMs were probably flooded.
However, the EST hoped that one day she would see the message and the outfits. Jade Cargill added that several ESPN Women pages had picked up on the story, so she remained hopeful that it would reach the Olympic gold medalist one day.
We found out we were doing the Big Three, and then Naomi was like, ‘Let’s do this,’ and she sent us the leotards. That was Naomi’s idea, and we went with it.

This contest was a precursor to Belair and Cargill’s match at Bash in Berlin. They faced the Unholy Union for the Women’s Tag Team Championship in Germany and secured the titles with ease.
Bianca Belair wants to see another women’s title on the main roster
There has long been talk of adding a women’s mid-card title to the WWE main roster. NXT recently did something similar by introducing the NXT Women’s North American Championship, currently held by Kelani Jordan. Bianca Belair, alongside many other fans, is also an advocate for this idea.
Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Belair opined that the female roster was heavily stacked at the moment. Adding such a title could be a huge step towards highlighting the talent present in the division. This would provide them with the right opportunities at a bigger stage. This talent pool would only increase in the future, with multiple women in NXT already lined up to be called up to the main roster.
Our roster is just so stacked, and I feel like another title would really highlight the true talent of our division.

There is also a lot of criticism faced by this idea. Although the women’s revolution over the past decade has brought about a great change, WWE’s booking of the women’s division continues to be relatively weak.
The Women’s Tag Team titles were nothing but props for the majority of their lifetime. Furthermore, with Raw going back to two hours, it would be difficult to find the screen time for another championship belt.
