On last night’s SmackDown, the powerful duo of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill competed in tag team action. The pair essentially squashed the team of Chelsea Green and a returning Piper Niven. Afterwards, Belair and Cargill spoke about their aspirations and whether they would be gunning for the Tag Team Championships.
In a backstage interview with Byron Saxton, the two praised each other while explaining why they work together well. Big Jade claimed it was ‘light work’ for them, emphasizing that it is easy to team with the EST. Meanwhile, Belair teased big things ahead for them by stating that they were just getting started. Most importantly, Cargill stated that they’ll “see” if they want to go after the tag team titles or not.
At WrestleMania, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, alongside Naomi, defeated Damage CTRL in six-woman tag team action. However, fans believed that this was a one-night-only partnership. The aforementioned interview suggests otherwise, and Cargill and Belair are set to dominate the tag team division for the foreseeable future.
On Raw this week, The Storm posed as a surprise opponent for Chelsea Green, who believed that she was blindsided by management. Therefore, on SmackDown, The Hot Mess told Nick Aldis that she was ready for the challenge. Needless to say, she was proved wrong by Cargill and Belair. Now, the duo’s focus will shift towards The Kabuki Warriors, who are the current Tag Team Champions.
How long will Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill continue to co-exist?
While the newly formed tag team seems untouchable at the moment, one might cast doubts on how long they can co-exist. Without a doubt, the pair is arguably the strongest-looking team in the division. However, their prowess as single stars cannot be denied either. Hence, the two egos can possibly clash if there’s a set of differences.
When Jade Cargill debuted at the Royal Rumble, fans were excited at the thought of a match between her and Bianca Belair. As a matter of fact, there was speculation surrounding the bout taking place at WrestleMania XL. Instead, the Triple H-led regime is most likely planning a long-term buildup to the “dream match.”
Obviously, Hunter has shown that he prefers a slow-burn storyline. Now, the question remains: Where will the match take place? As mentioned above, a high-caliber bout like this can only take place at the Showcase of Immortals. Whether or not this is the case, it will be interesting to see how things play out for the tag team.
