The Women’s Tag Team Championship triple threat match at Clash at the Castle had a shocking ending. The Unholy Union defied the odds by winning the titles in front of their home crowd in Scotland. While the moment was relished by fans online, a certain botch caught the attention of the WWE Universe. The now-ex-champion, Jade Cargill, attempted a top-rope crossbody during the match.
However, she slipped, causing her to fall awkwardly on the canvas. As a result, she had to improvise by hitting Shayna Baszler with a superplex. Although she botched the crossbody, Cargill recovered tremendously, as she later hit a powerbomb-kick combination on her opponents.
Her tag team partner, Bianca Belair, joined the fray, and the duo cleaned house. After hitting their deadly tag team finisher, Jade Cargill went to cover Baszler. However, Isla Dawn swooped in and threw The Storm outside of the ring.
At the same time, Alba Fyre held Belair on the outside and allowed her teammate to pin The Queen of Spades for the 1-2-3. Needless to say, it was an unexpected finish that certainly popped the Scottish crowd. In one of the most emotional moments of the night, The Unholy Union celebrated with their family and friends in the front row.
Fans online react to Jade Cargill’s botch at Clash at the Castle
As expected, fans didn’t hold back from brutally trolling Jade Cargill’s botch during the triple threat tag team match. Some users pointed out that the former Tag Team Champion unnecessarily performed the high-flying move. Moreover, a few fans claimed that a powerhouse like Cargill shouldn’t be delivering such maneuvers in the ring.
Another user hilariously alluded to CM Punk‘s infamous botch at All Out 2022, where The Second City Saint similarly slipped while attempting a Buckshot Lariat. Meanwhile, fans stated that The Storm should go back to the Performance Center and train to become better.
Overall, the WWE Universe found the funny side of the failed move, with most of them believing that Cargill shouldn’t have attempted it. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how things play out for the former AEW TBS Champion following the shocking loss at Clash at the Castle.
