The Queen of the Ring tournament continued on the latest episode of SmackDown. Jade Cargill defeated Piper Niven in the first round to make her way to the quarterfinals of the tournament. Her opponent for the match was Nia Jax, who secured a victory over Naomi last week to book her spot in the next round.
Cargill’s daughter, Bailey Quinn, was present at ringside to cheer her mother on. During the match, The Storm went up to her daughter to embrace her. However, the Samoan sneaked up on her and pulled her away from her daughter, throwing her on the ground. Bailey made her own thoughts known by booing the 39-year-old and showing her a thumbs down.
In response to this, The Irresistible Force got in the face of her opponent’s daughter and screamed that her mom sucked. The little girl screamed back at her in refusal. Nia Jax then turned around and ran right into a superkick by the former TBS Champion.
This was not Bailey’s first appearance in the WWE. During a recent live event on Mother’s Day, Cargill called upon her daughter to celebrate alongside her after the superstar won her match. The mother-daughter duo showed their love in front of the WWE audience, also being joined by WWE Women’s Champion Bayley.
Jade Cargill eliminated from the Queen of the Ring tournament after suffering a DQ loss to Nia Jax
Apart from the moment with Cargill’s daughter, the SmackDown match made headlines for another reason. When both Bianca Belair and her tag team partner were announced for the Queen of the Ring tournament, fans expected both of them to go really deep into the bracket. However, the former AEW TBS Champion was shockingly eliminated from the Queen of the Ring tournament in the quarterfinals itself.
During the match, Jax grabbed a steel chair from the timekeeper’s area. She swung to hit Jade Cargill on the head. However, the Tag Team Champion blocked the shot and grabbed the chair from the Samoan’s hands. In a fit of rage, she hit her opponent with the chair without realizing what she had done.
The referee called for a disqualification upon seeing this, which eliminated The Storm from the tournament. Luckily, her tag team partner had a better showing than her. Bianca Belair was able to overcome Tiffany Stratton to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.
