On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Jade Cargill suffered a hellacious attack in the parking lot. Cameras panned backstage to show Cargill laid out on a broken windshield of a car. Later, Cargill’s tag team partner, Bianca Belair, accompanied her to the hospital inside an ambulance as fans awaited for an update. Since then, multiple reports have seemingly confirmed that WWE used this angle to write Cargill off television.

First, Fightful reported that sources implied Cargill was legitimately injured. However, there was no confirmation of the situation. On his Sunday Daily Update, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the injury is legitimate. Moreover, sources indicated that Cargill would be out of in-ring action for a minimum of three months, although the severity is still unknown. According to Meltzer, this was a major reason behind WWE’s update on the Women’s Tag Team Champion.

The company announced on its social media handles that Cargill suffered several injuries. Among the injuries listed were a bruised kidney and a sprained MCL in her right knee. Needless to say, it does seem that The Storm will miss several weeks of action. At the moment, there is no update on the status of the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

It won’t be surprising if WWE decides to vacate the belts and crown new champions. If Jade Cargill does miss WrestleMania, it could be a massive blow for her. Fans speculated that the former AEW wrestler was headed toward a program with Belair. Having said that, it will be interesting to see how things play out on the road to the Showcase of Immortals.

Jade Cargill pulled from Women’s US Championship tournament on SmackDown

The attack on Jade Cargill was shown on the titantron during Bianca Belair‘s first-round match in the Women’s US Title tournament. A conflicted Belair left the match and rushed to her tag team partner backstage. This allowed Chelsea Green to pick up the win and advance to the next round.

Later, WWE announced that Cargill wasn’t medically cleared to compete in her qualifying match. As a result, a mystery third star will compete in a triple threat involving Michin and Piper Niven. In addition to that, Cargill most likely won’t recover in time for the scheduled women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.

WWE could also replace her in the stipulation bout at next week’s PLE. Cargill and Belair are a part of Team Rhea Ripley, who will face Liv Morgan‘s team. Belair will square off against Nia Jax in a WarGames advantage match on tonight’s episode of Raw.
