Tiffany Stratton retained the WWE Women’s Championship in the main event of SmackDown this past Friday. But there was way more notable stuff coming out of it than ‘The Buff Barbie’ just managing to hold on to her title. As the fans noticed during the live broadcast, Jade Cargill was busted open above her right eyelash.

It stemmed from Nia Jax driving Cargill’s face first into the steel steps at ringside. The spot ended up leaving a wide cut on the forehead of the former AEW star. ‘The Storm’ posted a couple of pictures on her Instagram where she gave a close-up of the gnarly-looking cut sustained by the Texas Smoke owner. She captioned it off by saying, “Don’t question the love I have for this game.”

The unfortunate Cargill mishap had its ramifications on the women’s triple threat bout, which, at one point, was sailing smoothly. However, during the closing moments, the referee botched the pinfall count after she awkwardly stopped before hitting the three on the mat.

Jax, who had just been hit by Stratton’s Prettiest Moonsault Ever, didn’t kick out, likely because she’d figured that Cargill wouldn’t be able to play a factor in the matchup anymore owing to a suspected concussion.

However, even if that was the case, it appears like ‘The Irresistible Force’ couldn’t quite relay the word to the female referee in the meantime. And hence the miscue that made the ending of that otherwise decent three-way bout look farcical. But the actual ending sequence saw Jax eat the pin, thus preventing a direct loss registered against Cargill’s name.

Baron Corbin defends Nia Jax amid resurfacing “unsafe worker” claims after Jade Cargill incident

The keyboard warriors became active following that ugly Jade Cargill injury-causing spot executed by Nia Jax on SmackDown. An account on X by the name of Nikko launched a tirade on ‘The Irresistible Force’ by revealing what it’d have done to bury the 2024 Queen of the Ring. If they were in Triple H‘s shoes, they’d book Jax to be pinned by every woman on the roster and fire her if she refused to put everyone over.

The said account outright claimed that the Sydney-born wrestler injured Cargill on purpose. It even posted a video montage drawing the similarities between how Jax ended up giving Kairi Sane a cut on her forehead during a 2020 episode of Raw and the latest one to Cargill on SmackDown. As such, former WWE star Baron Corbin called out the naysayer for commenting on something they had no idea about.

‘The Lone Wolf’ didn’t hold back and even dropped the F-bomb. For someone who was colleagues with Jax at one point in WWE, Corbin might be in a better position to even construe or dismiss a general notion of how things work in the pro wrestling business.

Jax has had a notorious in-ring reputation of leaving her opponents injured in some shape or form. While that happened way too frequently in her first run with WWE, she earned the goodwill of the fans by showing drastic improvements since her return in September 2023.

However, the Jade Cargill incident has reignited the unsafe worker allegations for ‘The Irresistible Force’. As of now, there is no evidence suggesting any backstage heat in WWE for the 41-year-old. However, based on her recent booking, it’s safe to argue that the company is no longer prioritizing Jax to hold the women’s title once again in the near future. She has had a number of opportunities to take the belt off Tiffany Stratton‘s waist, but Jax hasn’t been able to grab any of those.
