It has been a difficult week for former NBA star Jaden Ivey. He posted and live streamed on Instagram that did not go well with the Chicago Bulls. He suffered a left knee injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign but now finds himself without a job.
The former Chicago Bulls guard seems to not let his personal situation affect him as he was found preaching on the streets. A clip has gone viral online of Ivey sharing his beliefs at what appears to be Toomer’s Corner in Auburn, Alabama. Ivey is heard saying, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Jaden Ivey was drafted by the Detroit Pistons as the number five pick in the 2022 NBA draft. Injuries have been a concern for him over the last two years.
Despite the Pistons’ impressive campaign, they decided to trade Ivey to the Bulls as part of a three team trade at the trade deadline. He made just four appearances before being ruled out for the rest of the season.
It is disappointing to see a player of his hype and talent falling off in the span of a week. It all began when Ivey started to make controversial statements. He is quite outspoken about his religious beliefs.
Concerns started growing when he made controversial comments on Instagram last weekend. He called Catholicism a false religion and made anti-LGBTQ comments. It was a 45-minute rant on Instagram and the 24-year-old was waived by the Bulls later that day.
Ivey will still receive the $10 million owed to him by the Bulls. After his rant online, he has claimed that his wife and family have ghosted and deserted him since. However, his wife was quick to address the claims and said they were conversing with him throughout these difficult times. The latest episode of preaching the streets are going to raise concerns of his well-being.

If Ivey continues to be on this path, his once-promising NBA career might well be over as teams may be reluctant to offer him any contract. He has even dragged Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Michael Jordan in his online rant.
His latest viral clip of preaching on the streets did not take long to generate reactions across social media.

He should link up with AJ Griffin. They would dominate duo preacher lobbies.

Several fans are concerned for the young star. It seemed like a low-risk acquisition for the Bulls are the deadline but that has not been the case unfortunately.
Jaden Ivey reveals he was seconds away from committing suicide
Jaden Ivey has three children with his wife, Caitlyn Ivey. He comes from a sporting family, and his mother played in the WNBA for five years. His father and grandfather were former players in the NFL.

Ivey recently revealed that was seconds away from taking his life by overdosing. The intervention from his wife and God as he says prevented a tragedy from happening.
There have been many times where God has been so merciful. I’ve almost committed suicide multiple times and I’m not ashamed to say it. I had oxy pills in my hand and my wife was telling me, ‘Don’t do it.’ Then, I didn’t do it by God’s grace. He kept me here.
