Minnesota Timberwolves star Jaden McDaniels yells choice words towards Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker in Game 2 of playoffs

A well-drilled team is one where role players make their game good enough to compensate when their superstars do not have good nights. The Minnesota Timberwolves was the perfect example tonight of such a team. Jaden McDaniels is not a superstar on that team, but his performance tonight was enough to earn him the right to trash talk straight in the face of Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker in Game 2 of the playoff series.

The incident happened in the 4th quarter when Jaden McDaniels drove to the rim and scored on a layup. Upon not getting a foul call, he went on a foul-mouthed tirade against Devin Booker who was standing nearby.

You ain’t s**t.
Jaden McDaniels said to Devin Booker

Naturally, McDaniels was clowning Booker as the Timberwolves forward ended up having more points than any of the Suns superstars in the game. It also was a testament to his resilience to rise above the Suns defenders to help close out the game.

Devin Booker had an off game as he battled the tough defense the Minnesota Timberwolves resorted to. That defense limited each of the Phoenix Suns superstars to no more than 20 points. A testament to the grit the younger players showed.

McDaniels played his role on defense well as he limited Kevin Durant from even coming close to his Game 1 performance. No wonder the 2-time Finals MVP looked clueless as the game closed down.

Devin Booker and his Phoenix Suns superstars have to come out firing in game 3

As the series heads to Phoenix, there can be only one objective on the minds of the Suns: win Game 3. For that to happen, the Suns’ superstar trio have to raise their game. Booker, Durant, and Bradley Beal have to come out guns blazing so that they can at least go toe to toe with the young Timberwolves. That was the entire purpose of bringing the three together.

Outscore the opponents so that they can win games easily. Now, after 2 games in this playoff series, that motive seems lost. The Suns trio are averaging less than 60 points per game combined. Not enough when the Timberwolves have averaged 113 points per game all season.

They have to dig deep and find ways to score points, or else it could be a lost season after trading away so many future draft picks. Taking one game at a time and progress to the next round.
