From being flops at Manchester United to booking their spot as starters in a UEFA Champions League final, Marcel Sabitzer and Jadon Sancho have turned around their fate. It wasn’t long ago that the Borussia Dortmund duo struggled to perform under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. Following yesterday’s result, fans couldn’t help but wonder if Ten Hag was indeed the ‘problem’.

As for Sancho, the Englishman got into a disagreement with Ten Hag and was eventually exiled and transferred out of the club for refusing to apologize. The BVB No.10 moved to Germany in January on a loan deal which will keep him at the club till the end of the season. With his performances for the club, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Dortmund made his move permanent.

Sabitzer on the other hand joined the Red Devils on a loan deal a season ago from Bayern Munich. Despite Ten Hag’s initial liking towards the player, he failed to make an impact for the club, and ended up playing just 15 games in all competitions.

In July 2023, Sabitzer signed with BVB on a four-year deal. Fast forward a year and he’s set to play in a Champions League final!

Erik ten Hag can’t catch a break. The Dutchman came under criticism yet again as Jadon Sancho and Marcel Sabitzer proved their ‘worth’ playing for Dortmund.

A fan commented that no matter how good a player is, they end up struggling under Ten Hag. Another comment read that Sancho’s unapologetic behaviour landed him in a UCL final.

Many compared United’s current state to that of Sancho’s. As the Red Devils currently sit in 8th position domestically and exited the UCL after finishing at the bottom of their group, Dortmund’s situation couldn’t have been more contrasting. Sancho was hailed for becoming the first United player to reach a UCL final since 2011.

Another came to the conclusion that Manchester United are a cursed club. Life without Manchester United is surely suiting the Englishman, and many believe that it’s best for both parties if he doesn’t return to Old Trafford.

Amidst all the negative comments, a United fan found solace in the fact that United will have bargaining rights to increase Sancho’s price if Dortmund are to come for him at the end of his loan period.
