The Jacksonville Jaguars have been playing like domestic cats. The team lost its 5th game just a week after it secured its first win of the season against the Indianapolis Colts. Despite a decent outing by quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who ended the game with two touchdowns and one interception, the Jags defense had no response to a solid outing from Caleb Williams.

Following the disheartening loss, Jacksonville Jaguars safety Andre Cisco looked defeated. He was brutally honest in sharing his thoughts on the state of affairs within the organization.

Yeah, it was really bad…A lot of quit and I don’t know, last line of defense in a situation like that you can feel when we’re playing is winning or not and felt very early in the game kind of once things got- maybe at halftime that we weren’t playing as one. (It is) extremely (concerning), and dangerous.

Cisco seemed frustrated over the effort the Jaguars put up against the Bears. He pointed out that the defense was not entirely on the same page and felt disconnected going into halftime.

Andre Cisco’s statement should deeply concern fans. The Jaguars are not motivated to win, the team chemistry is lacking, and the guys are not playing as well as they can. These are the ingredients for disaster.

Andre Cisco believes the Jaguars have the talent to be a better team in the NFL

The safety further pointed out that practices are great, the players play phenomenally and execute their strategies to perfection. However, come Sunday, they struggle to achieve the same level of success against their opponents.

I feel like practice is great. We come into practices hard hats every day, guys turn up meetings attentive, it’s not a scheduled thing, practicing, like bro on Sunday it’s like when it counts and we understand that’s the hardest part. We understand that is the hardest part right but there is no excuse for a lack of effort, like that’s literally the least you could do is come out and give an effort.

Andre Cisco opened up

He held himself accountable too by clarifying that this applies to him as well. Cisco’s rationale is simple—if the Jaguars had put their best foot forward tonight and still lost, he could have lived with that because the team did everything it could have.

However, it is the fact that they lost because there was a lack of motivation and effort. For now, the safety is focused on keeping his head down, watching and learning from the mistakes, and working on them to get better for next week. Despite the team’s 1-5 record, Cisco is not ready to give up on the Jaguars’ season.

I mean the season is not over by any means. The NFL is built for you to play until Week 18 and we know that. It’s not a matter of season’s over, you quit, look to next year for me…

Andre Cisco added

The season may not be over for Jacksonville but if Cisco’s statement on the players’ attitude is to be believed then there is not much hope to expect them to bounce back.

Despite the underwhelming start to the season, owner Shahid Khan remains optimistic about Doug Pederson as his head coach. The team is 1-8 in its last nine games. This year, the expectations were higher from the Jaguars after the team locked in Trevor Lawrence for the long term. The team’s owner expressed faith in his head coach and GM in an interview with the Florida Times-Union.

I still believe in them. I believe in the players. I believe in the coaching staff. I believe in Trent. Obviously, the results are disappointing for all of them, just as well as me or any other Jaguar fan…I think we’ve got the players, we’ve got the coaching, we’ve got the facilities.

The only thing the Jaguars are yet to get is an opportunity to compete for the Super Bowl. The team remains one of four NFL franchises that has yet to compete in the big game, and at this rate, it seems unlikely that they will be getting there anytime soon.
