The Denver Broncos defeated the division rivals and the reigning divisional champions for the past nine seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs, in a crucial divisional matchup last week. The Broncos also solidified their standing in the division and the conference as a whole with the win. And the Broncos CB Jahdae Barron wasn’t shy to show off their win.

Barron, 23, chose to do so with a slight shade at the Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and an indirect swipe at his much-famous singer-fiancee. The Broncos CB, who made contact with Kelce during the game, posted an image where he covered the veteran tight end from finishing a catch and captioned it, “Tell swift put me on a song RIGHT NOW.

The shade wasn’t missed, and Barron was ripped to shreds online. Taylor Swift is one of the iconic musicians of the current time. She has generated a huge fan following online, who are collectively called the Swifties. And the wrath of these fans rained down in the comments for the young 23-year-old cornerback from Austin, Texas.

The rookie has since deleted the post after the fans called him out for unnecessarily taking Swift’s name in his post-game trash talk. He also posted a follow-up tweet on X.

The Denver Broncos still hold an edge in the defense charts despite the Texans shining against the Bills

The Houston Texans were good against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday. The Texans’ defense sacked the reigning NFL MVP, Josh Allen, eight times, the most he’s ever been sacked in a single game. They were good, and one got to give it to them for their excellence.

Despite the solid night from the Texans, the Broncos continue to lead several defensive metrics. The Broncos’ defense has 49 sacks, one short of becoming the fourth team to record 50 in 11 games. They are on pace to finish the regular season with 76 sacks, thereby surpassing the long-standing record held by the Chicago Bears. The Bears registered 72 sacks in the 1984 season.

However, the Broncos’ defense is facing a stiff battle to become the defensive leader from the Houston Texans. The Texans are second to the Chicago Bears in turnover differential ratio and third in most sacks this season. In fact, both Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. feature in the top five sack leaders for the season.

The Texans also lead the league in the fewest yards allowed category. In eleven games, they have allowed 2,907 yards with 264.3 on average. Breaking down the total, the Texans maintain a high ranking in both passing defense (3rd) as well as the rushing offense (4th). Additionally, they have also allowed the least amount of points among all teams.

Viewing the league through an individual lens, the Texans’ defensive side of the ball has three of their players with three or more interceptions caused. Calen Bullock has four, while Jalen Pitre and Derek Stingley Jr. have three each. These three, in addition to two by Kamari Lassiter, combine for a total of 12 interceptions. The Texans stand third on the list of most interceptions, while the Broncos are far off with six.
