The Jaipur Wax Museum announced a new addition to their catalogs of statues. The new statue is of Indian cricket legend, Virat Kohli. The statue is of him wearing India’s 2022 T20 kit and holding a bat.
The statue will be put up for display on 18th April for World Heritage Day. Anoop Srivastava, the founder and director of the museum revealed there were demands for Virat Kohli’s statue for over a year and then decided to put it up. Kohli is the 3rd cricketer to have his own statue after MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar.
Now that Virat has also become a sports icon for children and youth, what could be a better occasion than now when he has reached the highest level in world cricket, to install his wax statue.Anoop Srivastava said
Unfortunately, the statue was panned by fans everywhere. Many felt the statue looked nothing like the Indian captain. They mocked it heavily and some claimed it looked like Naveen-ul-Haq instead.

Virat Kohli to open for India in 2024 T20 World Cup
Ajit Agarkar, Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma met at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai to discuss the squad for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup. While a major chunk of the meeting was regarding the selection of Hardik Pandya, they discussed Virat Kohli’s role in the playing 11.
Playing at number three throughout his career, the three have decided to play Kohli as an opener. He will open the innings alongside captain Sharma. This means Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has opened for India in the past year, will have to miss out.
Kohli is the current Orange Cap holder in the 2024 IPL. He has scored 361 runs in seven innings, with an average of 72.2. He has two half centuries and one century, with the highest score of 113.
